Media Relations Mgr, Competitive

Our client is a brand new creative communications agency. Founded in the summer of 2009, they’re growing fast with clients in the video games, publishing and brewing industries. Their goal is to become recognised as a leader in creating distinctive communications solutions for their clients.

They are currently looking for a Media Relations Manager to join their existing team. This will initially be for a short-term contract of 2-3 months with the possibility of being extended at the end of that period.

Working with existing clients, the successful candidate will play a leading role in promoting the company’s consumer and brand clients in the media. You will have existing experience of working with consumer & trade media and key bloggers.

The successful candidate will be creative, smart and tenacious with a nose for news. You will be a consummate professional who demonstrates grace under pressure. Well connected and familiar with both traditional and new media, you will have a strong record of generating positive coverage.

Main responsibilities of the position include:

  • Monitor media and liaise with traditional and new media contacts on a daily basis
  • Craft excellent written materials on behalf of our clients including campaign documents, press
  • releases, presentations, status reports, evaluation reports.
  • Write comprehensive briefing documents for agency suppliers
  • Lead event planning and management i.e. press conferences, corporate events, launches, photo
  • calls
  • Play a key role in contributing to the agency’s new business pitches
  • Commission and analyse research including surveys and focus groups
  • Develop and implement PR programmes in line with agreed client objectives and strategy, and
  • develop contingency plans
  • Work in collaboration with senior agency staff to maintain excellent levels of client management and
  • relationships
  • Manage all financial aspects of your client, including fees, budget management, invoicing
  • Organise and chair internal, client and supplier meetings
  • Present effectively in a variety of situations

The successful applicant will possess a sound knowledge of consumer entertainment and/or consumer gaming sectors. The successful applicant with have excellent media contacts (across men’s and woman’s lifestyle press and preferably consumer games/technology contacts), will have strong organisational skills and preferably have some man-management skills as you will be responsible for a Junior Account Executive.

Preferably the successful applicant will already be working for a PR agency and have experience of working for games clients.

PR Manager UK, Competitive

Over the past five years my client had become one of the industry’s foremost publishers creating titles that are both critically acclaimed and commercially successful.

This is partially because they have a deliberate polity of quality above quantity.

They are now looking to appoint a new PR Manager – UK to compliment their existing team.

It is ESSENTIAL that you already have existing video games PR experience.

The successful candidate will execute and evangelise for the company’s titles throughout the UK and Eire.

The successful candidate will have existing video games PR experience and will have understanding of both gaming and the industry together with the principals and planning behind a PR campaign.

The successful candidate will have budget management experience, will be an excellent communicator that is diplomatic, dynamic and have good negotiation and influencing skills. They will also have a strong attention to detail and a love of travel.

The UK and Eire PR Manager will be responsible for championing all the company’s titles to both specialist and general press. They will work very closely with the International PR team to ensure all plans are implemented in time and will report to the company’s International PR Manager.
